Mike Heath

Owner of Magnus Creative

At the age of 6, I discovered the visual arts. I drew my pet bird and fell in love with the process of creating. From there my visual story-telling was shaped by countless hours at comic shops with my brother. I became fascinated with stories of seemingly average people doing amazing feats. Not only that, but how their stories were conveyed dramatically on the page. The 1989 Batman movie daringly portrayed these newsprint stories into cinematic flesh and blood. I believe this ultimately shaped my hyper-realistic art style. After a lot more drawing and painting, I received my bachelor of fine arts from Colorado State University and began a career in the commercial arts. Art is a passion and my job (a dangerous mix, I know) but my wife and three kids keep me balanced and make life truly rich and adventurous!

why work with Magnus?

With over 18 years of experience and close to 1000 artworks behind me, I meet challenges with knowledge and passion. If you asked my clients what I excel at, they would probably say that I can create worlds they want to visit and characters that inspire a second look. I create these hyper-real illustrations through the use of studio photography, 3D imagery, stock elements and compositing these pieces together with 'wow' impact. I know how to work with budgets and timelines of all kinds, and I do it all in house (with the help of my super hot producer). You'll notice that my work stretches to many genres and I love how this challenges me always to think differently. You'll also see the vision behind the work-I aim for EPIC every time. Beyond bringing fresh creative to the table, my clients say that I consistently give great options on each project, that I'm on time and a clear communicator throughout the creative process.
